Associate Software Development Engineer Job at Swiggy | Backend Engineering, Java, Go, Cloud Technologies

Swiggy is looking for highly motivated early-career engineers to join its backend engineering team as Associate Software Development Engineers (aSDEs). This role offers hands-on exposure to large-scale, distributed backend systems and an opportunity to work closely with experienced engineers on real-world production systems.

As an aSDE, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of backend services that power Swiggy’s technology platform.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and services
• Contribute to architecture and design discussions for new features and enhancements

Programming and Technology Stack

• Write high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code using Java and Go

• Build backend solutions using technologies such as:

  • Elasticache
  • Elasticsearch
  • Kafka
  • Amazon SQS
  • DynamoDB

Code Quality and Performance

• Participate in code reviews to ensure best practices and code quality
• Troubleshoot and debug production issues
• Optimize backend systems for performance, scalability, and reliability

Required Qualifications and Skills

Education

• B.Tech graduates (2024 or 2025) in:

  • Computer Science
  • Software Engineering
  • Related technical disciplines

Technical Skills

• Strong programming skills in Java and/or Go
• Familiarity with backend development concepts and system design
• Basic understanding of databases and data modeling
• Exposure to distributed systems and messaging platforms is a plus

Cloud and Tooling Knowledge

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Working knowledge of version control systems such as Git
