Senior Systems Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure, Linux, Windows, VMware, Kubernetes | Hyderabad

Cornerstone is looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join its Infrastructure Engineering team in Hyderabad. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals passionate about designing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure across modern datacenters and public cloud platforms.

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will work on highly available, scalable, and secure infrastructure supporting global applications and services. You'll collaborate with engineering, security, networking, and operations teams while leveraging modern cloud technologies, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, virtualization, and monitoring platforms.

This position is ideal for engineers with strong experience in AWS, Azure, Linux, Windows Server, VMware, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, cloud networking, storage systems, monitoring, and infrastructure automation.

• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise cloud infrastructure across public cloud and datacenter environments.
• Build highly available, scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure architectures.
• Lead infrastructure modernization and migration initiatives.
• Participate in infrastructure planning and architecture reviews.

Cloud Administration

• Manage cloud environments across AWS, Azure, or similar platforms.

• Configure networking components including:

  • VPCs
  • Virtual Networks
  • Subnets
  • VPNs
  • Security Groups
  • Load Balancers

• Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost.

Linux & Windows Administration

• Administer Linux servers including:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Rocky Linux
  • CentOS

• Manage Windows Server environments including:

  • Windows Server 2016
  • Windows Server 2019
  • Windows Server 2022

• Perform upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

Storage Management

Deploy and manage enterprise storage solutions including:

• Block Storage
• Object Storage
• Network File Systems
• NetApp Storage
• Pure Storage
• Dell EMC Storage

Infrastructure Automation

Develop Infrastructure as Code using technologies such as:

• Terraform
• AWS CloudFormation
• Ansible
• Python
• Bash
• PowerShell

Automate deployments, provisioning, configuration management, and infrastructure lifecycle operations.

Virtualization & Containers

Deploy and manage:

• VMware
• Docker
• Kubernetes
• Virtual Machines
• Containerized Applications

Support container orchestration and cloud-native infrastructure.

Monitoring & Observability

Implement monitoring and alerting solutions using tools including:

• Prometheus
• Grafana
• CloudWatch
• Nagios

Maintain centralized logging, observability, health monitoring, and incident response.

Security & Compliance

• Implement infrastructure security best practices.
• Configure IAM policies and access controls.
• Manage encryption and firewall policies.
• Ensure compliance with organizational security standards.

Incident Management

• Troubleshoot infrastructure and networking issues.
• Perform root cause analysis.
• Improve infrastructure stability and reliability.
• Resolve production incidents efficiently.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Work closely with engineering, DevOps, networking, security, and application teams.
• Mentor junior engineers.
• Share best practices and technical guidance.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and business continuity initiatives.

Required Skills

• Strong experience administering Linux environments (Red Hat, Rocky Linux, CentOS).
• Experience managing Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022.
• Expertise in AWS, Azure, or other major public cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts.
• Experience with VMware virtualization technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience using Ansible for configuration management.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with enterprise storage platforms including NetApp, Pure Storage, or Dell EMC.
• Strong understanding of cloud storage technologies.
• Experience implementing monitoring and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or Nagios.
• Knowledge of IAM, encryption, security policies, and cloud security best practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
