Job Description

Amazon’s REALM EPIC team, part of the Transportation and Delivery Experience org, is at the heart of building and managing mission-critical systems that optimize the shipment and delivery of goods across the globe. As a System Development Engineer I, you’ll be at the forefront of resolving high-impact production issues, automating infrastructure, and improving delivery operations — directly enhancing customer experience at scale.
Requirements
- Provide on-call support for global Amazon Transportation infrastructure
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve real-time software production issues
- Automate infrastructure and daily operations using scripts and tools
- Modify and maintain existing internal tools (Perl, Java, Ruby, C++, etc.)
- Write and execute SQL queries for system diagnostics and data validation
- Collaborate with development teams to improve application stability
- Design and deploy proactive monitoring and alerting systems
- Contribute to the improvement of CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows
- Document processes and best practices for system maintenance
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience deploying, automating, and supporting infrastructure
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Golang, Ruby, or C++
- Solid hands-on experience with Linux/Unix-based systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automated build pipelines
- Understanding of DevOps best practices, monitoring tools, and scripting
- Experience in customer-impacting operational support roles
- Solid debugging and system optimization abilities
- Strong communication and time management skills
