Optiv is hiring Fresher Associate Engineer I – Bangalore (On-site)

Optiv is looking for an Associate Engineer I – Security Automation/SOAR to join its team in Bangalore. In this on-site role, you'll work on implementing SOAR solutions, automating incident response workflows, and contributing to security engineering tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers with a passion for cybersecurity, automation, and real-world problem-solving

Responsibilities

• Implement and develop automation workflows using SOAR tools such as Swimlane, Splunk SOAR, Cortex XSOAR, Tines, and others.
• Automate repetitive SOC tasks to improve incident response using custom scripts and platform integrations.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and SOC operations to develop and translate manual processes into automated workflows.
• Conduct health checks, reporting, ticket acknowledgment, and basic troubleshooting for AFC services.
• Contribute to the knowledge base and internal documentation for troubleshooting and process improvement.
• Analyze security incidents and design mitigation strategies through automation.
• Integrate security tools and systems using Python and REST APIs.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience in software development, web development, or security automation.
• BE/BTech/ME/MTech/MCA in Computer Science or related field.
• Solid programming skills in Python, Node.js, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.
• Familiarity with MongoDB, Postgres, or MySQL.
• Basic experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and DevOps tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub).
• Understanding of SOAR and cybersecurity operations is a strong plus.
• Experience working with REST APIs and data storage systems.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to SOC operations and automation strategy.
• Experience writing requirement documents for data programming and automation workflows.
• Security domain knowledge and hands-on experience in scripting security automation tasks.
