As an Interim Engineering Intern - SW at Qualcomm's Chennai office, you will design and develop software for Qualcomm's cutting-edge mobile chipsets.
This 1-year internship program is tailored for 2025 Masters graduates who are eager to work on world-changing technologies. You will collaborate with inventive minds across diverse skills, backgrounds, and cultures to transform 5G's potential into real-world products.
Key responsibilities include:
- Development of real-time embedded software and device drivers
- Mobile software development for Windows Mobile, Android, or Linux platforms
- Working on Multimedia Technologies such as Audio and Video codecs and Image Processing
- Contributing to Wireless Modem Technologies including 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth, and Self-Organizing Networks
- Platform-level software development for Linux, Android, Windows, and Board Support Packages
- IoT Technologies development for Connected Cameras, Smart Assistants, Drones, Virtual Reality, and Augmented Reality
- Communication protocol stack software development
- Kernel, BSP, and Device Driver Development
- Application software and UI development
- Software architecture for embedded devices based on Android and Windows
- Design and development based on Object Oriented Programming
Requirements
- 2025 Masters graduates available for a 1-year internship program
- Masters in Computer Science Engineering, Communication Engineering, or ECE
- Strong understanding of OS concepts and Data Structures
- Proficiency in C/C++ and object-oriented design
- Experience with real-time embedded software and device driver development
- Knowledge of wireless network standards such as CDMA/GSM/UMTS/LTE
- Experience with Linux/UNIX, Linux Drivers, and Linux Kernel Development
- Understanding of protocols such as TCP/UDP/IP/SIP/RTP
- Knowledge of Multimedia technologies including Audio, Video, and Imaging
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate and work in teams
- Good verbal and written communication skills
