Razorpay Hiring AI Builder Intern in Bangalore

Job Description
Razorpay, one of India's largest fintech companies processing billions of dollars in payments, is hiring AI Builder Interns through the Razorpay AI Buildathon 2026. This is a student-only program designed to discover and hire the next generation of AI builders who can turn ambiguous business and product problems into working AI systems, prototypes, automations, and agentic experiences.
Unlike traditional internship hiring where applicants submit resumes and wait for shortlisting, the Buildathon flips the process entirely. You pick an AI track, build something real, show your work, and if it has signal, Razorpay calls you in for a direct panel interview. There is no resume screening, no aptitude test, and no group discussion anywhere in the process. Your college name, CGPA, and resume formatting do not matter — what matters is whether you can build a working AI system and defend your architecture decisions.
The selected AI Builder Intern will join Razorpay's AI Builders team, working on cutting-edge AI products, automation, and fintech innovation. Razorpay is looking for people who are always thinking about how to harness AI, who see every workflow as an agent loop, who speak in prompts and GitHub links, and who can show projects they have shipped or seriously prototyped. This is not a traditional internship — it is about solving real problems, shipping fast, and building AI-native products that operate at massive scale.
The program offers a choice between a 6-month or 12-month internship duration, with a monthly stipend of ₹75,000 for the full tenure. The internship is in-person at Razorpay's office in Bangalore, Karnataka, starting from September 2026.
Key responsibilities include:
- Build and ship working AI systems, prototypes, automations, and agentic experiences that solve real fintech problems
- Work on AI Growth and Agentic Commerce projects including conversational checkout, agent-readable catalogs, and upsell agents
- Develop AI Risk Manager systems that detect financial fraud, manage transaction risks, and enforce compliance controls in real time
- Build AI Revenue Recovery agents that identify, mitigate, and recover lost merchant revenue from payment failures and churn
- Create AI Finance Controller automation for reconciliation, ledger accounting, and financial management workflows
- Contribute to Open Track AI-native products and systems that solve significant real-world problems
- Work with LLM APIs, vector databases, agent frameworks, and automation tools to build production-grade AI solutions
- Collaborate with Razorpay's engineering, product, and design teams on AI-native fintech products
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and sprint planning as part of the AI Builders team
Requirements
- Currently enrolled college student pursuing B.Tech, M.Tech, BCA, MCA, or equivalent technical program
- Ability to build and ship functional AI projects — even solo weekend builds count
- Familiarity with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Claude, or similar), vector databases, agent frameworks, or automation tools
- Comfortable working with Python, REST APIs, and full-stack development
- Understanding of RAG architectures, multi-agent frameworks, or data pipelines
- Ability to explain architecture decisions clearly and defend technical choices in a panel interview
- Willingness to commit to a 6 or 12 month in-person internship at Razorpay's Bangalore office starting September 2026
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a builder mindset
- Excellent communication skills for technical documentation and pitch delivery
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience shipping AI, ML, or full-stack projects on GitHub
- Knowledge of fintech, payments, or financial services domain
- Experience with AI tools such as Claude Code, OpenClaw, MCPs, or similar agent platforms
- Understanding of agentic AI patterns, tool use, and autonomous agent workflows
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for deploying AI applications
- Experience with database systems, data pipelines, or real-time data processing
- Contributions to open-source AI projects or active GitHub portfolio
