Job Summary

Cognizant is seeking a Systems Engineer with 0 to 4 years of experience to join their team in Chennai, India. This role focuses on Service Desk operations, troubleshooting IT issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems. The position requires working in a rotational shift model and is based in the office with no travel requirements.

• Provide first-level technical support to users for hardware/software issues.
• Monitor IT systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
• Assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems and networks.
• Respond to Service Desk tickets and ensure adherence to SLAs.
• Collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Document technical procedures and user guides to enhance support efficiency.
• Perform system checks and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various systems.
• Provide training and support to users on new technologies.
• Stay updated with the latest IT trends and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and IT procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in Service Desk operations.

Required Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Service Desk operations and best practices.
• Experience in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Familiarity with installing and configuring computer systems/networks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support users.
• Strong problem-solving abilities to resolve IT issues efficiently.
• Knowledge of IT policies, procedures, and security protocols.

Preferred Certifications

• CompTIA A+
• ITIL Foundation
• Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
