Job Description
Red Arch Solutions is looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer (Systems Admin / Systems Engineer) to support engineering platforms and microservices critical to modernizing how data is leveraged across multiple DoD customers. The role requires expertise in automation, infrastructure configuration, patching, CI/CD, Kubernetes, cloud technologies, and Linux systems administration.
Requirements
This role focuses on providing direct support to engineering platforms, DevOps pipelines, cloud environments, and microservices. The engineer will collaborate closely with technical teams and stakeholders to enhance infrastructure automation, deployment performance, and platform reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and automate infrastructure tasks, provision managed services, and leverage programming tools including Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
- Patch, harden, and maintain compliance of RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) systems.
- Install, configure, and manage Kubernetes, Docker, Nifi, and cloud metrics tools for performance optimization.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab to automate building, testing, and deployment workflows.
- Support and administer AWS cloud environments.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with internal teams and technical stakeholders.
Education & Experience Requirement

9+ years of experience in Software or Systems Engineering / Administration or closely related fields.

Education substitution:
- Bachelor’s degree may replace 4 years of experience.
- Master’s degree may replace 6 years of experience.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph clearance.
- Strong experience with PaaS platforms.
- Expertise in configuring and managing Linux operating systems.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
- Security+ or other 8570-compliant certification.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools for DevOps pipeline development and management.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Agile development environments.
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
- Experience optimizing code and DevOps pipelines.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Ruby, Python, or Bash.
- Experience with Docker or other container technologies.

Compensation
Estimated salary range: $98,000 – $193,000 Final compensation depends on experience, responsibility level, certifications, geographic factors, market alignment, and contract-specific requirements.
