Amazon is hiring Graduate DevOps Engineer (Thames Valley, UK)

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Graduate DevOps Engineer to join its Utility Computing (UC) team in the UK. This role is ideal for engineers with a passion for cloud, automation, and systems operations. You’ll contribute to building, maintaining, and improving AWS services while ensuring high availability, scalability, and customer success.

You must be a UK national and eligible to obtain UK Government Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and solve operational inefficiencies.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for high-severity issue resolution.
• Monitor and analyze dashboards, investigate metrics, and recommend improvements.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose system and networking issues.
• Create and maintain SOPs and runbooks for operational documentation.
• Drive automation initiatives to simplify and scale operations.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of Linux system administration.
• Experience with scripting/automation using BASH, Python, or Perl.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, switching, HTTP).

Nice to Have

• Exposure to cloud computing concepts and design considerations.
• Experience working in a production environment.
