Key Roles and Responsibilities – What You Will Do as a DevOps Intern
- Assist in provisioning, managing, and monitoring cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS.
- Support the design, implementation, and optimization of CI/CD pipelines (automated builds, testing, and deployments).
- Help manage and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Terragrunt.
- Contribute to containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and assist with root cause analysis.
- Write and maintain automation scripts in Bash or Python.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline workflows.
- Maintain documentation of DevOps processes, configurations, and best practices.
Skills and Qualifications Required for the Associate DevOps Engineer Intern Role
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Basic understanding of DevOps principles and cloud computing concepts.
- Exposure to AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, etc.) is preferred.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Knowledge of containerization with Docker; Kubernetes understanding is a plus.
- Problem-solving mindset with a passion for learning new technologies.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Academic projects, personal projects, or prior experience with Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Prometheus/Grafana will be considered a plus.
