Job Description
United Airlines is seeking an Associate Engineer – DevOps to support automation initiatives across engineering, development, and operational teams. The role focuses on improving software delivery efficiency, enhancing system reliability, and contributing to automation architecture across United’s technology platforms.
The Associate DevOps Engineer will work on infrastructure configuration, CI/CD pipeline development, automation scripting, system performance optimization, and collaboration across business, network, and security teams.
Requirements
- Participate in designing and developing automation architecture
- Solve complex manual challenges and contribute to code reviews
- Analyze business, network, and security requirements
- Introduce new technologies and engineering best practices
- Troubleshoot, test, and maintain platform quality and security
- Work within Agile development environments
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 1+ year of experience as an automation engineer or in a similar role
- Strong Python programming skills (high proficiency required)
- Experience with Bash/Python scripting
- Knowledge of NETCONF, RESTCONF, Netmiko
- Experience with Git, Jenkins, GitLab CI or similar tools
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Must be legally authorized to work in India
- Fluent in English (spoken/written)
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible)
- Familiarity with OpenText Operation Orchestration (OO)
- Strong understanding of DevOps principles and automation workflows
