Job Description

You’ll be providing technical support to Canonical’s customers using Ubuntu across cloud, server, desktop, and IoT systems. The focus is on resolving complex technical issues, triaging customer cases, and maintaining high-quality documentation.

Requirements

  • Provide remote technical support via phone, email, and web.
  • Own cases from problem identification to resolution.
  • Create and update knowledge base content.
  • Participate in weekend rotations.
  • Work with internal teams and senior engineers for escalations.
  • Communicate effectively across time zones and teams.
  • Stay up to date with Canonical products and Ubuntu development.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong academic background (preferably in Computer Science, IT, MIS, or Electrical Engineering).

  • Solid Linux troubleshooting experience (logs, config files, stack traces).

  • Basic knowledge in 2+ of the following:

    • Linux server administration
    • Programming (Bash, Python, C/C++, JavaScript, Go, etc.)
    • Networking (firewalls, MTU, NFS, etc.)
    • Virtualization/cloud computing concepts
  • Excellent English communication skills.

  • Quick learner, customer-focused, and calm under pressure.

  • Willingness to travel internationally for company events.


Nice to Have

  • Experience with:
    • KVM, VMWare, or VirtualBox
    • Contributing to open-source projects
    • Ubuntu, Red Hat, Debian, Juju, MaaS, OpenStack, Kubernetes, Ceph, QEMU/KVM
