As an Associate Software Engineer, you will be responsible for managing all phases of the software development lifecycle, including programming, testing, and documentation. Ensure high-quality software delivery to end-users while improving process documentation and actively participating in agile methodologies and scrum ceremonies.
Requirements
- Understanding all the phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Programming, testing, and documenting applications.
- Executing and troubleshooting existing code to identify and rectify errors.
- Delivering high-quality software products to end-users and ensuring that they meet the required standards.
- Writing test cases that cover various aspects of the software, including functional, integration, performance, and usability testing.
- Improving documentation of processes and systems.
- Familiarizing oneself with agile methodologies and actively engaging in all scrum ceremonies.
- Hybrid Schedule: 3 days remote / 2 days in office.
- 30-day notification period preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS/MS in a relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering).
- Understands core software development concepts such as data structures, object-oriented programming, n-tier architectures, and unit testing.
- Writes unit tests and is able to debug code.
- Follows Agile workflow and uses team development tools (e.g., issue tracking, source control) effectively.
- Understands the importance of Atom architecture principles related to scalability, flexibility, stability, and simplicity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Front-End and/or Back-End technologies such as HTML, CSS, Angular, React, NodeJS, .Net, Java, Salesforce Apex, Visualforce, Lightning, JavaScript, Shell, Python.
- Basic knowledge of fundamentals of software development: modularization, object-oriented design.

Salary
At Kaplan, we recognize the importance of attracting and retaining top talent to drive our success in a competitive market. Our salary structure and compensation philosophy reflect the value we place on the experience, education, and skills that our employees bring to the organization, taking into consideration labor market trends and total rewards. All positions with Kaplan are paid at least $15 per hour or $31,200 per year for full-time positions. Additionally, certain positions are bonus or commission-eligible.
