Requirements
The DevOps Software Engineer will play a key role in maintaining and expanding the platform infrastructure that powers the Betterworks application. The role involves working with AWS cloud infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Kubernetes orchestration, Docker containers, CI/CD pipelines, and automation scripting to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation, and other IaC tools.
- Operate and optimize AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, EKS, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Design and maintain containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Develop service mesh architecture for scalable applications.
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and automate deployment workflows.
- Integrate and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI, Travis, or similar platforms.
- Script automation using Python, Bash, or Ruby to streamline repetitive tasks.
- Collaborate with distributed teams and contribute to Agile/Scrum practices.
- Support PostgreSQL, Redis, and other core infrastructure technologies.
- Ensure compliance with information security policies and best practices.
Required Skills and Experience
- 2–5 years of DevOps experience with exposure to software engineering practices.
- Strong knowledge of AWS cloud architecture and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, CloudFormation.
- Strong scripting abilities in Python, Bash, or Ruby.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Redis, and other database technologies.
- Practical experience with monitoring, troubleshooting, and scaling cloud environments.
- Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI, or Bamboo.
- Knowledge of security practices, patching, and compliance.
