The Risk-Investment & Markets (Risk-IM) function provides senior management and risk teams with transparency and advanced analysis of risks and client exposures managed by Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) and Investment Solutions (IS).

Within Risk-IM:

The Risk Systems team delivers a comprehensive capital markets risk system used for market and counterparty risk capital calculations and advanced risk analysis.
The Data Fabric team builds and operates large-scale risk data architectures that support rapid reconfiguration while complying with strict data governance standards.

Risk and data platforms are strategic investment areas within BNP Paribas, driving continuous growth and modernization.

Position Purpose

The Associate DevOps Engineer role focuses on:

Supporting and enhancing CI/CD pipelines for Risk Systems
Implementing and maintaining cloud and cloud-native infrastructure within RISK IT
Contributing to DevOps projects, automation initiatives, and production support activities

This is an individual contributor role requiring strong collaboration, ownership, and technical execution.

Key Responsibilities

Core DevOps and Platform Responsibilities

Build, configure, and maintain development tools and infrastructure
Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines and release processes
Automate development, testing, and deployment workflows
Deploy application updates, fixes, and enhancements across environments
Develop scripts and tools to automate visualization and operational tasks

Collaboration and Delivery

Understand stakeholder requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Work closely with software developers and engineers to ensure adherence to defined processes
Participate in project planning and contribute to project management decisions
Integrate software with internal back-end systems

Reliability, Support, and Operations

Perform root cause analysis for production issues and incidents
Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical problems
Provide Level 2 and Level 3 production support, including weekend support when required
Design and document troubleshooting and system maintenance procedures
Build tools and automation to reduce errors and improve customer experience

Security and Quality

Ensure systems are secure and compliant with cybersecurity standards
Test and review code written by others and analyze results
Identify technical risks and implement preventive or corrective solutions

Cross-Team Contributions

Contribute to transversal initiatives within the RISK IT department as needed
Support continuous improvement initiatives across DevOps and platform engineering practices

Required Technical and Behavioral Competencies

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Minimum 3 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer
Overall experience range: 3–5 years, with 2–3 years of relevant cloud platform experience

Core Technical Skills

Strong proficiency with Git and Git-based workflows
Scripting experience in any two of Python, Groovy, or Shell
Solid working knowledge of Linux / Unix operating systems
Experience with DevOps tools such as Ansible, Maven, TeamCity, Jenkins

Cloud and Cloud-Native Technologies

Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
CI/CD tooling experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub
Infrastructure and automation using Terraform
Experience working on cloud platforms; exposure to private cloud or on-premise environments is an advantage

Automation, Observability, and DevSecOps

Configuration and automation using Ansible and Helm (mandatory)
Observability and logging tools: Dynatrace, OpenSearch, Fluent Bit
DevSecOps tooling experience: Fortify, Sonar, NexusIQ
Ability to work with AI tools such as LLMs and agents, including writing effective prompts
