Cyber Security Engineer – CommScope

CommScope is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join its team in Hyderabad. This role is a key individual contributor position within the Security Architecture and Engineering team. The Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, monitoring, and managing security systems and controls that protect the business.

The ideal candidate should have a foundational understanding of technology stacks, security tooling, and cloud security (Azure, AWS, GCP). This position offers an opportunity to work on a broad range of security controls, contributing directly to the organization's cybersecurity success.

• Implement, maintain, monitor, and manage cyber security systems and controls.
• Deliver projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with SLAs.
• Work with architects, senior engineers, the security operations center (SOC), incident responders, and IT teams.
• Participate in change management meetings.
• Conduct performance and efficacy testing of security solutions while ensuring business operations are not impacted.
• Collaborate with teams to develop security standards and best practices across security domains.
• Educate IT teams on common cyber threats and remediation strategies.
• Assist the Governance, Risk, and Compliance team in answering technical audit and client inquiries.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 4+ years of cybersecurity experience.
• Hands-on experience with at least two security capabilities (firewalls, CASB, SSE, DLP, SIEM, endpoint security, vulnerability scanning, PKI, MFA, CSPM, etc.).
• Prior experience in IT/technical domains with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Customer service-oriented and solution-driven mindset.
• Self-starter with strong time management skills.

Preferred:

• Hands-on experience with public cloud security (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Familiarity with Azure security controls and services.
• Experience with Netskope and Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
