Alcon is hiring a DevOps Engineer - Apprentice in Bangalore for candidates interested in building careers in Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, CI/CD, Automation, Kubernetes, Docker, and Site Reliability Engineering.

This role offers hands-on exposure to cloud operations, infrastructure support, monitoring, deployment automation, and incident management while working alongside experienced engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Operations Support

• Monitor production and non-production environments
• Ensure system availability, performance, and reliability
• Provide L2/L3 support for cloud infrastructure and DevOps tools
• Troubleshoot application, system, and network issues
• Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and patching

CI/CD & Automation

• Support CI/CD pipelines for build, testing, and deployments
• Resolve deployment and pipeline issues
• Improve automation using scripts and configuration tools
• Support Infrastructure as Code templates

Incident & Problem Management

• Respond to alerts and incidents during on-call rotations
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA)
• Document incidents, SOPs, and resolutions

Security & Collaboration

• Support vulnerability remediation and security scans
• Work closely with Development, QA, Cloud, and Security teams
• Maintain infrastructure and deployment documentation

Required Skills

• Linux / Unix fundamentals
• Cloud platform awareness: AWS, Azure, or GCP
• CI/CD tools: Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI
• Docker and Kubernetes basics
• Shell, Bash, or Python scripting
• Networking basics: DNS, TCP/IP, Load Balancers
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology
