DevOps Engineer Internship

Smallcase is looking for a DevOps intern to work alongside world-class engineers, designers, and finance professionals to build next-generation investment products. The role involves implementing automation, managing infrastructure, and contributing to CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate should have a strong willingness to learn, work with cloud infrastructure, and optimize deployment processes.

Expectations:

• Work with infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform or CDK
• Gain hands-on experience with containerization concepts like Docker
• Implement automation and best practices within CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, Jenkins, Argo Workflow)
• Create and maintain documentation for DevOps processes and policies
• Monitor and respond to infrastructure alerts and incidents
• Collaborate with developers and operations teams to resolve infrastructure-related issues

Requirements:

• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Bash, TypeScript)
• Basic understanding of Cloud Service Providers such as AWS
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts
• Familiarity with DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and agile development practices
• Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and command-line utilities
• Eagerness to stay updated on emerging DevOps tools and best practices
• Interest in optimizing cloud infrastructure for cost and efficiency

Good to Have:

• Familiarity with Kubernetes and orchestration concepts
• Understanding of database storage management
• Knowledge of observability tools like Elasticsearch and Prometheus
