Job Description
Global Payments is hiring an Associate Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) in Pune to support the reliability, automation, performance, and scalability of critical platforms powering global payment services.
The role combines Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Test Automation, Cloud Infrastructure, ITIL, and Production Support. The engineer will contribute to automation initiatives, troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues, improve operational processes, and help build reliable and maintainable testing and validation frameworks.
Key responsibilities include applying SRE and ITIL practices, evaluating manual support activities for automation opportunities, troubleshooting test cases and job failures within defined SLAs, maintaining automation scripts, and developing tools and frameworks for functional, integration, validation, and verification testing.
The role also involves collaborating with developers, business teams, analysts, and stakeholders to create test plans and test cases, supporting cloud-based applications and infrastructure, and bridging the gap between development and production support teams.
The position may require shift work and weekend on-call support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent certification.
- 2–4 years of experience in Software Testing, Test Automation, Site Reliability Engineering, or DevOps.
- Practical knowledge of SRE and ITIL processes.
- Experience with Test Automation and software quality practices.
- Strong knowledge of Selenium, MS Test, API testing, and integration testing tools.
- Scripting experience with PowerShell, Bash, Perl, Python, or Ruby.
- Hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform.
- Understanding of Microsoft Windows Server and Red Hat Linux environments.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic knowledge of server patching and maintenance cycles.
- Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Experience with Windows Server monitoring and automation is preferred.
- Experience with multiple operating systems including Windows and Linux is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Jenkins and Ansible is preferred.
- Experience with post-deployment validation and production support is beneficial.
- Exposure to GCP monitoring and cloud cost optimization is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Terraform, ServiceNow, Selenium, Playwright, UiPath, LogicMonitor, ThousandEyes, Splunk, Jira, Jenkins, and Harness is preferred.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across development, infrastructure, QA, and production support teams.
- Willingness to work in shifts and participate in weekend on-call support when required.
