As a Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations for our innovative language learning platform. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and soft skills to collaborate effectively with internal partners and explain complex concepts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and administer Linux (Redhat and derivatives, Debian and derivatives) and Windows systems
• Implement and maintain DevOps tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Git pipelines
• Work with virtualization platforms including VMware, Hyper-V, Red Hat Virtualization, and Linux KVM
• Handle database administration for PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle, and NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, and Elasticsearch
• Utilize cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or Alibaba
• Configure and optimize general software and middlewares including web servers (Apache, Nginx, IIS) and application servers (Tomcat, JBoss/Wildfly)
• Develop and maintain scripts using Python, shell, or Perl
• Support networking infrastructure with vendors like Dell, HP, and Mellanox

Technical Skills:

• Systems administration experience with Linux (Redhat and derivatives, Debian and derivatives) and Windows
• Proficiency in DevOps tools: Ansible or similar (Puppet, Chef, Salt), Terraform or similar (Pulumi), Git (especially GitLab pipelines)
• Knowledge of virtualization platforms: VMware, Hyper-V, Red Hat Virtualization, Linux KVM
• Database expertise: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle, NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch)
• Cloud experience with one of: AWS, Azure, GCP, Alibaba (or similar)
• Familiarity with general software/middlewares: web servers (Apache, Nginx, IIS), application servers (Tomcat, JBoss/Wildfly)
• Scripting skills in one of: Python (preferred), shell, Perl
• Networking knowledge (Dell, HP, Mellanox, etc.)
