Lenskart is hiring high-caliber DevOps / Site Reliability / Platform Engineers with strong engineering fundamentals and a deep sense of ownership. This role focuses on designing, building, and operating scalable, reliable, and secure platforms that empower product engineering teams to deliver features quickly and safely at scale.

The position spans multiple levels (I, II, III) and is suited for engineers who are passionate about cloud-native infrastructure, automation, reliability engineering, and developer productivity.

• Design, build, and operate cloud-native platforms that abstract infrastructure complexity and significantly improve developer productivity.
• Develop reusable, opinionated infrastructure components using Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Own and operate Kubernetes clusters, networking layers, service orchestration, and workload reliability in production environments.

Site Reliability Engineering and Operational Excellence

• Define, implement, and continuously improve SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets for business-critical services.
• Participate in on-call rotations, lead incident response efforts, and author clear, blameless post-incident root cause analyses.
• Proactively reduce operational toil through automation, tooling, and engineering-led solutions.

CI/CD, GitOps, and DevOps Enablement

• Design, build, and evolve secure, automated CI/CD pipelines following GitOps principles.
• Enable safe, frequent, and reliable production deployments with strong rollback mechanisms and observability.
• Partner closely with application engineering teams to embed reliability, security, and operational excellence early in the development lifecycle.

Observability, Monitoring, and Operations

• Implement and maintain best-in-class observability solutions, including logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting.
• Ensure alerts are actionable, meaningful, and aligned with true service health rather than noise.
• Build dashboards, operational runbooks, and self-healing mechanisms to continuously improve MTTR and system resilience.

Architecture, Scale, and Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with software engineers, architects, and security teams to influence system and platform design decisions.
• Review infrastructure and architecture with a strong focus on scalability, resilience, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Champion DevOps, SRE, and cloud-native best practices across teams and the broader organization.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Core Engineering Foundations

• Strong fundamentals in Linux operating systems, networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP), and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Python or Go for automation, tooling, and platform development.
• Solid Git workflows and strong software engineering discipline, including code reviews and testing practices.

Cloud Platforms and Container Orchestration

• Hands-on experience with AWS as a primary cloud provider; exposure to GCP or Azure is an added advantage.
• Strong, production-grade experience operating Kubernetes clusters (required).
• Experience managing containerized workloads at scale using Helm (required).

Infrastructure, Automation, and Tooling

• Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (required).
• Configuration management and automation using Chef or Ansible (preferred).
• CI/CD and GitOps tooling experience with ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.

Observability, Monitoring, and Reliability

• Metrics, monitoring, and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, and Alertmanager.
• Distributed tracing and APM experience with Datadog, New Relic, or OpenTelemetry.
• Hands-on incident management experience using PagerDuty or equivalent platforms.

Data Stores and Messaging Systems (Working Knowledge)

• Relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
• Streaming and search technologies including Kafka and Elasticsearch.
• Caching systems such as Redis.

Educational Background

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline from a recognized institution.
• Strong academic grounding in operating systems, computer networks, distributed systems, databases, and software engineering principles.
• Formal coursework or academic projects involving cloud computing, containerization, Linux systems, networking, or automation are highly valued.
• Equivalent hands-on experience building and operating large-scale, production-grade platforms may be considered in lieu of formal education.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, CKA/CKAD, or Terraform certifications are a plus, but not mandatory.

Nice to Have

• Experience building and operating internal developer platforms.
• Exposure to DevSecOps practices and cloud security fundamentals.
• Experience supporting high-traffic, consumer-facing systems at scale.
• Strong written communication skills, including design documents, RFCs, and operational runbooks.
