Requirements
Miratech is hiring a Junior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to support and enhance its community-driven, OpenStack-based private cloud infrastructure. This role offers hands-on exposure to production-grade, mission-critical, multi-tenant cloud platforms while working closely with experienced platform and SRE engineers.
The position blends cloud infrastructure, data center operations, and Linux systems engineering, with a strong focus on OpenStack, Ubuntu KVM, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure-as-Code. It is well suited for engineers looking to deepen their expertise in private cloud and large-scale infrastructure environments.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud and Infrastructure Operations
- Support the operation of multi-tenant OpenStack private cloud environments hosted in on-premises data centers
- Assist with provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of Ubuntu KVM hypervisors, OpenStack services, and Kubernetes clusters
- Work alongside senior engineers on compute, storage, and networking infrastructure components
Automation and Infrastructure as Code
- Contribute to infrastructure automation using Ansible, Terraform, or Pulumi
- Support lifecycle management activities including provisioning, upgrades, patching, and decommissioning
- Assist with CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure changes, including validation and rollback processes
Observability and Reliability
- Monitor infrastructure health using Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and related observability tools
- Support high-availability and disaster recovery practices across cloud and data center components
- Participate in incident response, troubleshooting Linux, virtualization, storage, and networking issues, with escalation when required
Operations and Collaboration
- Join on-call rotations under guidance from senior engineers
- Contribute to post-incident reviews, root cause analysis, and documentation
- Collaborate with global platform, SRE, and operations teams to continuously improve reliability and operational practices
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in infrastructure operations within data center or private cloud environments
- Hands-on experience with software-defined storage (SDS) solutions such as Ceph or Longhorn
- Practical experience with OpenStack and Ubuntu-based KVM virtualization
- Exposure to Kubernetes infrastructure operations (beyond application deployment)
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools: Ansible, Terraform, or Pulumi
- Strong Linux administration skills (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS)
- Basic scripting skills in Bash or Python
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and automation concepts
Infrastructure Fundamentals
- Basic understanding of:
- Hypervisors: KVM, VMware vSphere
- Storage technologies and protocols: Ceph, iSCSI, NFS
- Data center networking fundamentals: L2/L3 networking, routing, load balancing
- Ability to work in 24×7 production environments and participate in on-call rotations
Nice to Have
- Exposure to data center hardware such as Cisco UCS or similar server platforms
- Additional experience with software-defined storage solutions
- Experience supporting high-availability or multi-region OpenStack clusters
- Background in telecom, edge cloud, or large enterprise infrastructure environments
