Site Reliability Engineering Internship Program Poshmark is hiring a Site Reliability Engineering Intern to join the CloudOps/SRE team. This role focuses on supporting the reliability, availability, and scalability of Poshmark’s production systems.

The internship is designed for candidates who are passionate about systems engineering, automation, and cloud infrastructure, and who want hands-on exposure to operating large-scale, real-world web platforms.

As an intern, you will collaborate closely with experienced Site Reliability Engineers and development teams, gaining practical experience in production monitoring, infrastructure automation, and incident management processes.

Six-Month Internship Learning Outcomes and Accomplishments

• Develop a strong understanding of Poshmark’s technology stack, infrastructure, and core product architecture.
• Learn the foundational principles of Site Reliability Engineering, including monitoring, alerting, automation, and incident response.
• Gain hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and DevOps tools used across the CloudOps organization.
• Assist in building or enhancing automation scripts, dashboards, and internal operational tools.
• Contribute to guided, small-scale engineering projects under the mentorship of senior engineers.
• Observe and learn the on-call process and incident management workflows without owning primary on-call responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities and Day-to-Day Contributions

• Assist in monitoring the health, performance, and availability of production services.
• Support senior engineers in deploying, maintaining, and improving infrastructure and platform services.
• Help create, maintain, and update dashboards, alerts, and operational runbooks.
• Participate in troubleshooting basic production issues and contribute to post-incident reviews.
• Collaborate with development teams to understand application behavior and operational requirements.
• Follow best practices related to reliability, security, and automation.
• Clearly document learnings, processes, and tools for team-wide use.

Desired Skills, Qualifications, and Learning Mindset

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Basic understanding of Linux or UNIX operating systems.
• Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language such as Python, Ruby, or Bash.
• Foundational knowledge of cloud computing concepts (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Strong interest in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure roles.
• Willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and operational best practices.
• Good problem-solving abilities with a proactive and curious learning attitude.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative engineering environment.
