RedSwitches is hiring Junior Linux System Administrator (Remote, India)

RedSwitches is looking for a motivated Junior Linux System Administrator to join their remote-first team. In this role, you will help manage and support Linux-based infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, security, and performance while working closely with senior administrators and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain Linux servers for performance and uptime
• Assist with server deployments, configurations, and migrations
• Perform regular updates, patches, and backups
• Troubleshoot issues and respond to alerts in a timely manner
• Provide technical support for client-reported issues
• Document procedures, configurations, and changes
• Collaborate with senior admins and cross-functional teams

Requirements

• 1–2 years of hands-on experience with Linux administration (CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian)
• Basic understanding of networking (IP, DNS, firewall, SSH)
• Familiarity with server software (Apache, Nginx, MySQL, FTP)
• Comfortable with command-line and remote systems (SSH)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good communication skills (written & verbal)
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Nice to Have

• Experience with hosting control panels (cPanel/WHM, DirectAdmin)
• Exposure to virtualization (KVM, VMware, Proxmox) or cloud platforms
• Scripting knowledge (Bash, Python)
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Zabbix, Nagios, Prometheus)
