PhonePe is hiring a System Engineer in Bangalore to support cybersecurity operations, vulnerability management, SIEM monitoring, cloud security, and infrastructure compliance activities.

This role is ideal for professionals with experience in Linux administration, cloud security, SIEM platforms, vulnerability remediation, security operations, and automation scripting.

• Monitor security events using SIEM tools like Wazuh and ELK Stack
• Analyze logs, network traffic, and system behavior
• Detect suspicious activities and security threats

Vulnerability & Patch Management

• Manage end-to-end vulnerability remediation lifecycle
• Perform scanning, patch deployment, and validation
• Prioritize vulnerabilities based on business impact

Compliance & Audit Support

• Monitor infrastructure drift against CIS benchmarks
• Support ReBIT, ISO 27001, and security audit readiness
• Generate compliance reports and operational evidence

Security Operations & Infrastructure

• Troubleshoot system, network, and endpoint security issues
• Support endpoint detection and response tools
• Assist in cloud security and IAM management

Network Security & Infrastructure

• Wireshark or Tcpdump packet analysis
• Strong understanding of HTTP/S, DNS, DHCP, SMB
• VPNs, proxies, firewalls, and networking concepts

Linux & Windows Administration

• Linux CLI administration and log analysis
• grep, awk, sed, and shell utilities
• Active Directory and Group Policy knowledge

SIEM & Security Operations

• Wazuh, ELK Stack, Splunk, or SIEM tools
• ElasticSearch queries (ES/QL) or SPL
• Threat detection and log correlation

Cloud Security

• AWS / Azure / GCP security fundamentals
• IAM and least privilege principles
• Shared responsibility model understanding

Scripting & Automation

• Python scripting
• Bash or PowerShell automation
• API integration and operational automation

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field
• Certifications:
  • CEH
  • Security+
  • CCNA Security
• Exposure to cloud security practices
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
