VanEck is Hiring Entry Level Junior DevOps Engineer

MarketVector Indexes GmbH, the index business of VanEck, is looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer to join its Technology team in Mumbai. In this role, you will support the automation and day-to-day operations of platforms powering global equity, bond, digital asset, and custom indexes.

You will work on CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, containerized services, monitoring systems, and automation workflows to ensure secure and reliable operations of index calculation engines, real-time data pipelines, and client-facing APIs.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with senior engineers and collaborate with teams across Frankfurt, New York, and global technology operations.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Support

• Assist in managing cloud infrastructure primarily in Azure and partially in AWS
• Support server environments, container platforms, and networking operations
• Work with infrastructure-as-code tools under guidance

CI/CD Pipelines

• Support development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines
• Troubleshoot pipeline issues and update configurations
• Automate repetitive operational and deployment tasks
• Help improve engineering workflows and deployment processes

Monitoring & Operations

• Monitor application performance and infrastructure health dashboards
• Participate in incident response activities
• Improve alerting, monitoring, and logging systems

Automation & Scripting

• Write automation scripts using:
  • Bash
  • Python
  • PowerShell
• Automate operational and maintenance activities

Security & Compliance

• Support security best practices including:
  • Secret management
  • IAM permissions
  • Encryption standards
• Follow secure deployment and infrastructure guidelines

Collaboration & Learning

• Work closely with senior DevOps engineers and development teams
• Support deployment activities and operational processes
• Maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
• Continuously learn modern DevOps, cloud, and software engineering practices
