Role Overview

Vegastack is hiring DevOps Engineers (6 months – 1 year experience) to join its DevOps team. The role involves working on infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployments, container orchestration, and system reliability initiatives.

This opportunity is ideal for early-career engineers who want hands-on exposure to modern DevOps tooling and wish to contribute to high-impact infrastructure decisions.


Key Responsibilities

CI/CD Pipeline Management

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar tools
  • Automate build, test, and deployment processes to improve delivery speed and reliability

Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

  • Provision and manage infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
  • Maintain scalable, secure, and cost-optimized cloud environments

Containerization and Orchestration

  • Build and manage containerized environments using Docker
  • Deploy, manage, and scale workloads using Kubernetes

Monitoring and Observability

  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Datadog
  • Develop dashboards and alerts to proactively detect and resolve issues

System Reliability and Performance

  • Implement high availability, disaster recovery, and fault-tolerant systems
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and optimize system performance

Scripting and Automation

  • Develop automation scripts using Python, Bash, or Shell
  • Automate repetitive operational workflows to reduce manual effort

Collaboration and Engineering Best Practices

  • Collaborate with Development, QA, and Security teams to embed DevOps practices into the SDLC
  • Follow security standards for deployments and infrastructure management
  • Work with Unix/Linux systems and apply networking fundamentals such as DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPN, and TCP/IP

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL) and familiarity with Windows environments
  • Proficiency with Git and platforms such as GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket
  • Ability to write automation scripts using Bash/Shell or Python
  • Basic knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
  • Familiarity with web servers such as NGINX or Apache2
  • Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, or DigitalOcean
  • Foundational knowledge of Ansible for configuration management
  • Basic knowledge of Terraform or CloudFormation for Infrastructure as Code
  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong working knowledge of Docker
  • Basic exposure to Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with at least one programming language such as Java, Node.js, or Python
