Job Description

WS Audiology hiring an experienced Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to join the Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps team within the R&D organization. This global team is responsible for building, operating, and continuously improving a modern, large-scale cloud environment that enables secure, reliable, and efficient software delivery worldwide.

The role offers the opportunity to work in an international Scrum team alongside highly skilled DevOps and Infrastructure engineers, contributing to the development of next-generation cloud application platforms that support WS Audiology’s mission of improving people’s quality of life through better hearing

Requirements

  • Analyze business and technical requirements to design appropriate, scalable cloud infrastructure services.
  • Architect and maintain highly available, secure, and resilient cloud platforms on Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Cloud Infrastructure and Automation

  • Develop, build, automate, and operate cloud infrastructure platforms serving customers globally.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code using ARM, Bicep, Terraform, or OpenTofu.
  • Apply modern DevOps and GitOps practices to enable consistent and repeatable infrastructure deployments.

Containerization and Microservices

  • Design and operate cloud infrastructure with a strong focus on microservices architectures.
  • Manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes, with emphasis on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Develop and maintain Helm charts and support serverless capabilities such as Azure Functions, Service Bus, and Cosmos DB.

Collaboration and Engineering Enablement

  • Work closely with geographically distributed teams, including Development, Cloud Architects, Infrastructure Architects, and domain specialists.
  • Partner with development teams to provide reusable, scalable, and extensible cloud solutions.
  • Support teams throughout the software lifecycle by enabling secure and efficient release pipelines.

Operations, Reliability, and Incident Management

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and platform incidents.
  • Perform thorough root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
  • Participate in a 24/7 L3 on-call rotation as part of the global team.

Monitoring and Observability

  • Implement and maintain monitoring and observability solutions using Application Insights, Azure Monitor, Grafana, and related tools.
  • Ensure high visibility into system health, performance, and reliability.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • BE / B.Tech in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Professional Experience

  • 5 to 12 years of hands-on experience in Azure Cloud Infrastructure, Azure DevOps, and GitOps practices.
  • Background in software development, with strong understanding of application lifecycle and delivery pipelines.
  • Proven experience operating and supporting large-scale, cloud-based systems.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong experience in Azure infrastructure and development, ideally within a .NET Core / C# ecosystem.
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code and cloud automation.
  • Deep knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native microservices architectures.
  • Experience with build and release YAML pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell and Bash scripting, including Pester tests.
  • Solid conceptual understanding of cloud architecture, microservices, and system design.

DevOps, Monitoring, and Tooling

  • Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Application Insights, Azure Monitor, and Grafana.
  • Experience working with Artifactory / JFrog is an advantage.

Methodologies and Collaboration

  • Experience working in Agile and SAFe development environments.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience in .NET Core and C# application development.
  • Experience working on medical software projects or regulated environments.
